Netflix's Poster For The Live-Action Fullmetal Alchemist Film

The live-action adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemisthas been well-received by both fans and critics in Japan, and although the film only premiered in Japanese theaters last December, Western fans will have the chance to enjoy the film when it premieres on Netflix this month.

The live-action Fullmetal Alchemist film is heading to Netflix on February 19, and to remind fans about it, the streaming service shared a new poster for the epic film. The poster features Alphonse and Edward Elric in the train station, one of the most memorable images from the movie.

Directed by Fumihiko Sori, the film takes place in an alternate reality 20th century where alchemy is real. The story follows Edward (Ryosuke Yamada) and Alphonse Elric (voiced by Atomu Mizuishi) who, after trying the forbidden technique of human transmutation, suffer the deadly consequences. Edward loses his left leg and right arm while Alphonese loses an entire body. Edward sacrificd his right arm to save his brother's soul by attaching it to a metal armor. Edward is given metal prosthetics to replace his arm and leg. The Elric brothers embark on a journey to find the legendary Philosopher's Stone.
