Netflix's One Piece Live-Action Series Shares First Teaser

The long wait for an update on the One Piece live-action adaptation is finally over. We just got our first teaser for the upcoming Netflix series and it reveals the title of the pilot episode.

It feels like the announcement for the adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's beloved manga was made ages ago. Unfortunately, development on the live-action series slowed down due to COVID-19. Luckily, showrunner Steven Maeda never allowed the delay to stop him as it is revealed he has been hard at work on the screenplay.

The official Twitter account for Netflix's One Piece series has shared a new image showing the pilot's screenplay. In addition to revealing the logo for the adaptation, the photo confirms the first episode will have an interesting title.

"No matter how hard or how impossible it is, never lose sight of your goal," the caption reads. The first page features the title for Episode #101 as Romance Dawn.

One Piece fans are well aware of the reference. It is also the title of the one-shot that serves as a predecessor to the manga. This means the live-action series will be taking everything right from the start.

Oda had actually worked on Romance Dawn before creating One Piece. The mangaka had started working on the stories as a high school student who wanted to create a pirate-themed manga. Needless to say, there would be no One Piece without Romance Dawn.

The first episode is also confirmed to be written by Maeda and Matt Owens. Hopefully, we'll be getting more updates on the new series soon.

Other details about the One Piece live-action series have not yet been revealed. For instance, the cast has not yet been announced. However, we could be getting big news about the show soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
