Netflix's Ghost in the Shell Anime Gets Brand-New Poster

Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming Ghost in the Shell anime and, as expected, it has garnered some controversy. The new series, titled Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 has been criticized for its CGI visuals, with many comparing it to a mobile game or PS2 cutscene. Admittedly, that's harsh criticism for an unfinished and unproven product since there is more to witness.

We also got a new Ghost in the Shell poster and it's pretty solid, showing off the lead character in a white background. It doesn't tell us much but shows that the character design is actually pretty solid and would probably be more beloved if it were 2D, even though the CG isn't too bad. Come on guys, have you not seen that Berserk anime? This looks masterful compared to that.

Fans are currently divided about the Netflix interpretation of this classic series, one that has been inspiring to manga, anime, and media in general. We even got a live-action Ghost in the Shell movie not too long ago starring Scarlet Johansson, which wasn't good but was a bit better than other anime adaptations like Dragon Ball: Evolution.

It's too early to tell if Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is going to be a masterpiece or even as good as Stand Alone Complex but it is getting people talking, for better or worse. Hopefully, things work out and we get a solid show. Netflix's Ghost in the Shell will be coming out sometime in 2020.
