It's been years since Netflix first announced their Dark Crystal prequel series, and a lot of fans were curious on when the show was going to come out. Good news is, we finally have a release date, and it's not that far off.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is set to come out on August 30 this year. The show is set to run for ten episodes, and will feature practical puppets from Jim Henson's Creature Shop—with very little to no CGI involved.

The lead Gelfling characters will be voiced by Taron Egerton (Kingsman), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), and Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones). The show also comes with a variety of celebrity guest stars with Helena Bonham-Carter, Natalie Dormer, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Jason Isaacs, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Mark Hamill, and so much more.

This is the description of the story as per BD:

The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.

Catch Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance on Netflix Aug. 30.
