A while ago, it was announced that Netflix is working on a new live-action Addams Family series called Wednesday that will be directed by Tim Burton and written by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar. You star Jenny Ortega is set to play Wednesday Addams and now we find out that someone from Westeros is joining the series.

Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie has been cast to play the role of Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy who, according to Netflix's announcement, "still has an axe to grind" with her former classmate Morticia Addams, who will be played by Oscar-winner Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Christie is best known for her role as Brienne of Tarth on Games of Thrones which garnered her an Emmy nomination during the final season. She also played Captain Phasma in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and is set to play Lucifer in Netflix's The Sandman series. Christie is a wonderful actress and the character that she will play looks like a juicy role for her. It's also exciting to see her sharing scenes with Zeta-Jones. Based on the character description, we might expect a face-off between them sometime during the series.
