Netflix Unveils Mysterious Trailer For Upcoming Kdrama Series Squid Game

Netflix is gearing up for a new series that will catch every Kdrama fans' September in a game with an intriguing sneak peek to a mysterious Kdrama set to premiere next month.

Squid Game is an imminent Kdrama series about people who participate in a mysterious survival game. They have to remain alive to be able to win a prize of 45.6 billion won (approximately $40 million) and become the final winner.

Beforehand, the streaming giant revealed a mysterious poster that captures attention. One of the faceless workers for the game is dragging a bloody corpse towards a coffin similar to a gift box.

Along with the sinister visual is a caption that says "45.6 billion won, destroying the grown-ups' childhood innocence". The poster puts a sinister twist on the Korean children's game known as the "squid game".

Moreover, the first trailer for the upcoming series raises the tension as participants risk their lives to play the game. A glimpse of the participants' future inside the game gives chills to every viewer's bones, heightening the anticipation for the drama's premiere.

A total of 456 participants gather at the edge of the cliff without any idea of where they are. They wind up joining the game only to find out that losing the game means losing your life. The mysterious trailer piqued interest from viewers as they wonder who is behind this threatening game of life and death.

Squid Game will star multi-awarded actors Lee Jung Jae and Park Hae Soo. They will portray two childhood friends who suddenly get involved in the game and find out that there is more at stake other than just the prize money for the winner.

The upcoming Netflix series is written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk who is also recognized for his various award-winning creations such as the films Miss Granny, The Fortress, Silenced, and My Father.

Goblin and Train toBusan star Gong Yoo is also reported to be making a special cameo appearance in the Netflix original series. Meanwhile, Squid Game is set to be released on Netflix next month, September 17.
