Netflix Reveals Neon Genesis Evangelion Premiere Date, English Dub To Feature New Cast

It has been some time since we got an update about Neon Genesis Evangelion and its upcoming premiere on Netflix. Luckily, the streaming giant has just confirmed when we can finally watch the anime series on NX.

Netflix has just shared a new video announcing the Neon Genesis Evangelion premiere date. The announcement confirms that all 26 episodes of the original series will air in June. In addition to that, the franchise's two films Death & Rebirth (titled Evangelion: Death True 2) and The End of Evangelion will be available for streaming on the same date.

This is truly exciting news for fans who have been waiting for the series to be available internationally. However, there might be some bad news for people expecting the English dub to feature the original cast.

Amanda Winn Lee had previously provided the English dub voice of Rei Ayanami. However, Lee announced on Twitter that their roles have actually been recast.

"FYI Not only were our roles recast in Evangelion, but they never had any intention of even auditioning us in the first place. So stop wondering. No, Spike, Tiffany, Allison, and I are not in it," Lee wrote.

Lee, Spike Spencer, Tiffany Grant, and Allison Keith originally provided the English dub voices of Rei, Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Soryu, and Misato Katsuragi. Netflix has yet to announce the new cast for the English dub.

All 26 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion, as well as the movies Death & Rebirth and The End of Evangelion will be available for streaming on Netflix on June 21.
