Netflix Reveals First Look at Charlize Theron as Andy in The Old Guard Adaptation

Are you ready to see Charlize Theron in action all over again? Netflix has just revealed the first images from the upcoming adaptation of the comic book The Old Guard and it offers an awesome look at Theron as Andy.

The first photos were released by Vanity Fair, which also confirmed that Theron's character is a centuries-old immortal who keeps getting resurrected throughout the years.

Theron explained that her character Andromache of Scythia (she goes by Andy these days) is someone who has gone through so much after thousands of years of repeatedly being killed and resurrected.

"It was important to feel the weight of thousands and thousands of years on her," Theron said. "The worst part for her is just feeling like she's not doing anything. So what is the point, you know? She's lost faith, not just in herself but in humanity. I think a lot of people can relate to that at this moment in time. We go through periods in life where we just look at the world and go, Oh, my God… You just feel like you're pushing a rock up a mountain."

Andy isn't the only one who has lived through a lot in The Old Guard. The film will also feature Marwan Kenzari as Joe aka Yusuf Al-Kaysani, Matthias Schoenaerts as Booker aka Sebastian le Livre, Luca Marinelli as Nicky aka Nicolo di Genova. They are all immortals who encounter KiKi Layne's Nile Freeman, who is discovered to be just like them. The movie will also star Doctor Strange actor Chiwetel Ejiofor as Copley.

The Old Guard will premiere on Netflix on July 10.
