Netflix Releases Late Chadwick Boseman Poster for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom

It has been almost two months since the unfortunate passing of Chadwick Boseman and it looks like we finally have a glimpse at his final role. Netflix has just released the character posters for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and it shows the Marvel Cinematic Universe star as Levee.

The character posters were shared on the official Netflix Twitter account. Check them out below.

The film also stars Viola Davis as Ma Rainey, Glynn Turman as Toledo, Taylour Paige as Dussie Mae, Dusan Brown as Sylvestor, Colman Domingo as Cutler, and Michael Potts as Slow Drag.

The premise of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom reads as follows:

"Tensions and temperatures rise over the course of an afternoon recording session in 1920s Chicago as a band of musicians await trailblazing performer, the legendary 'Mother of the Blues,' Ma Rainey (Viola Davis). Late to the session, the fearless, fiery Ma engages in a battle of wills with her white manager and producer over control of her music. As the band waits in the studio's claustrophobic rehearsal room, ambitious trumpeter Levee (Chadwick Boseman) – who has an eye for Ma's girlfriend and is determined to stake his own claim on the music industry – spurs his fellow musicians into an eruption of stories, truths, and lies that will forever change the course of their lives."

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is the last movie Boseman was able to work on before he passed away on August 28. He was initially expected to reprise his role as T'Challa in Black Panther 2. However, Marvel has assured that the role will not be recast.

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is directed by George C. Wolfe and will premiere on Netflix on December 18.
