Netflix's One Piece Star Shares Promising Message to Anime Fans


Earlier this week, Netflix announced the cast for the upcoming live-action adaptation of One Piece. Inaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar will be playing Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji respectively, in Netflix's adaptation based on the shonen manga series by Eiichiro Oda. Now, one star has shared a message to fans about his role as Monkey D. Luffy.

Over on Instagram, Inaki shared a photo of himself with One Piece-related items, showing his dedication to portray one of the most iconic anime characters. In the story, Luffy aims to become the King of Pirates, and he uses the power of the Gum Gum Fruit that allows him to stretch his limbs, while also giving him a huge boost in power.

"I've been doing my research on one piece and I know how much this means to all of you. I wanna let you know I will do my best and I appreciate all the kindness you've showed me. THANK YOU FOR THE TRUST."

Who is Inaki Godoy?

Inaki Godoy is an 18-year Mexican actor best known for his role in the Mexican crime-drama soap series, Who Killed Sara?, in which he plays Bruno. He has also done other works in the entertainment industry, including Go Youth, Por la Mascara: La Serie Web, and more.

Netflix has also announced plans for the live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho and Mobile Suit Gundam. The live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop is set to release on the streaming platform later this month.

The Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece will initially be released with ten episodes and will follow the East Blue Arc from the original source material, which featured the formation of the Straw Hats as Luffy tries to assemble a crew to help him in his dream of becoming the King of Pirates.
