Netflix Officially Announces Cowboy Bebop Live-Action Series

After months of rumors and reports, Netflix has officially revealed that a live-action Cowboy Bebop series is coming to the streaming service. One of the most beloved anime from the 1990s, fans are both excited and nervous about the upcoming series since Hollywood and Netflix have disappointed fans with these adaptations before. Anyone remember Death Note?

Thankfully, series creator Shinichiro Watanabe will be the series consultant, which could mean that the live-action serial is in good hands. That, or it will be used as an excuse to make plenty of changes, though no one will mind as long as it leads to a good product. We can only hope that this series is as good as the animated Castlevania series currently airing on Netflix.

Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, and Matthew Weinberg have signed on to produce the series also, with Netflix handling physical production. While there are few concrete details about the project, it has been confirmed that the first episode of the series will be written by Thor: Ragnarok scribe, Christopher Yost.

Right now, all we can do is hope that the series is good and remember all of the great anime that currently airs on Netflix. It would be awesome if the service decides to air the original anime before the live-action series comes out, though it doesn't have a release date. All we know is that it will have 10 episodes.

No release date for Cowboy Bebop has been revealed.
