Netflix's Nightbooks Reveals First 3 Minutes of The Horror Family Film

One of the most highly-anticipated movies coming to Netflx this month is the Sam Raimi-produced Nightbooks, the film adaptation of J.A. White's 2018 novel about kids who have to feed a fiendish witch's lust for scary stories.

Directed by David Yarovesky, with a script from Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis, Nightbooks stars Winslow Fegley as Alex, Lidya Jewett as Yazmin, and Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, The Defenders) as the evil witch Natacha

Ahead of the film's release later this week, Netflix has shared the first three minutes of Nightbooks on social media, giving us a look at how Alex becomes trapped in the witch's treacherous apartment, and it looks like there will be a lot of supernatural elements in this place.

Here's the official description of Nightbooks from Netflix:

Alex (Winslow Fegley) is a creative boy with a strong passion for writing scary stories. But when he's labeled weird and rejected for what he likes, he swears he'll never write again. That's when an evil witch (Krysten Ritter), captures him in her magical apartment in New York City and demands that he tell her a new tale every night if he wants to stay alive. Trapped inside with Lenore, the witch's spiteful
cat
watching his every move, Alex meets Yasmin (Lidya Jewett), another young prisoner who has learned how to survive the witch's wicked whims. With Yasmin's help, Alex must learn to embrace what makes him unique—his love for scary stories—and rewrite his own destiny to break them free.

Nightbooks is scheduled to be released on Netflix on Sept. 15. You can check out the list of upcoming Netflix movies for the rest of the year here.
