Netflix Leaks and Deletes Summary for Their Resident Evil Series

Netflix's Resident Evil series has been in production/pre-production for some time and we've all been curious about what this live-action series will be like. The games have had a range of tones, usually going for survival horror but also not afraid to be campy or action-packed. While we can start guessing and theorizing, Netflix accidentally released a synopsis for the series in their Media Center and have promptly deleted it, though fans have since shared the info online.

What makes the Netflix Resident Evil series interesting is that it will supposedly take place 26 years after the T-Virus was discovered. This could mean that Raccoon City won't even be a thing since the city was destroyed years after Resident Evil 3. It will be interesting to see how Netflix handles the popular franchise and having the series take place years after the virus was spread opens up a lot of possibilities.

Here's the synopsis:

"The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths - the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C. Today, twenty-sex years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak."

Admittedly, while fans are excited for the series, they only really have the games to base their excitement over and some of them don't even have great stories. Hopefully, Netflix takes the franchise seriously or gets people who love Resident Evil since Castlevania proved that video game adaptations can be done well.

No release date for the Netflix Resident Evil series has been announced. Resident Evil 3 Remake is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3.
