The ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) is expected to affect numerous film and TV projects that are in production. Some audiences are concerned about whether their anticipated films or shows will be able to make it to air as a result of this.
Amongst the many TV shows that are set to premiere soon is the second season of Good Omens. While filming already wrapped a while ago, there are some questions on whether post-production was already done before the strike and ready for release to the public.
Fortunately, fans of the series have nothing to worry about as creator Neil Gaiman confirmed on Twitter that the second season of Good Omens is already "done and dusted" and it is set to premiere on Prime Video this summer.
"Good Omens Season 2 will be out this summer. It's all done and dusted," the author wrote in his tweet in response to a fan question.
This is a great assurance for fans who were anxious about the status of the show's sophomore season which is supposed to premiere soon. It is safe to say there are still plenty of films and TV shows that are still in the can and ready to premiere in the next couple of months.
It is unknown yet how long the strike will run as the negotiations are still far from the results that will satisfy both sides and, the longer the strike runs, we will be seeing more productions get halted in the coming months.
In case you're not familiar, writers are not allowed to do any writing or rewriting during the strike period which would mean that there is no finished script that can be worked on by the producers.
While it is fortunate to see that the second season of Good Omens is not affected by the strike, it will be a different case for many other films and TV shows as they are expected to get delayed as a result of the strike.
