Neil Gaiman Confirms The Sandman Season 1 Has Wrapped Filming

That's a wrap for The Sandman Season 1. Neil Gaiman has confirmed that the upcoming Netflix series has finally completed filming and we could be seeing footage from the show really soon.

Production on The Sandman has been mysterious right from the start. After all, the series began production without making an announcement about the cast, who would only be revealed when they were almost halfway through filming.

So it's no surprise that we learned about the production wrap only after a fan reached out to Gaiman on Tumblr and asked for an update on The Sandman. The Good Omens co-author confirmed that the show is now in post-production.

"Well, we've finished principal photography on Season 1, and now we all have to be patient while the VFX and suchlike are done, music is written and recorded, and so on," Gaiman wrote. "No, I don't know any release dates, or even when the trailer will be released."

This is great news considering that The Sandman has been delayed for a very very long time, and we're not just talking about the Netflix show. The adaptation of Gaiman's work has been stuck in production hell for decades before it was finally picked up by the streaming service and turned into a series.

As for the release date or trailer, fans are ready to wait a few more weeks for it. After all, what's a month when you've been waiting for The Sandman for more than a decade? Hopefully, an update will be announced soon.

The Sandman will star Tom Sturridge as Dream, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Boyd Holbrook as the Corinthian, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death. The series has not yet been given an official release date but is set to premiere on Netflix.
