Natalie Portman Promises to 'Get Jacked' for Thor: Love and Thunder

Fans went crazy when it was announced that Taika Waititi's Thor 4, now called Thor: Love and Thunder, would feature the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and have her become the Goddess of Thunder. That's right, we're getting female Thor - who I like to call Jane FosThor - in the next film, along with Valkyrie in an LGBTQ relationship, which is another big win for diversity. Now, all we need to know is why Jane gets the hammer and what exactly happens to male Thor after his trip with the Guardians.

Portman recently went on Instagram to share the news to those who weren't aware, sharing an image of herself during the announcement. The actress also claimed that this will act as a "before" picture since the actress promises to get "jacked up" for the role, which is nice to hear. Jane Foster's female Thor was pretty ripped and could go toe-to-toe with Marvel's biggest villains so Portman could be in for one hell of a workout.

Very little details about Thor: Love and Thunder have been released, aside from Taika Waititi directing and Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tessa Thompson returning to their roles. It's not yet clear if Thor becomes unworthy, which would undo a lot of his development during Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame but hey, those films undid some of the character work done in Thor: Ragnarok so all is fair.

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently scheduled for a November 5, 2021 release.
