Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 to Have New Update Next Year

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 may be the last in the series, but the game itself is not yet done.

A new update from the Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump confirmed that developer Bandai Namco Entertainment is preparing a new update for the game. According to Anime News Network, the new DLC will be called Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto.

The developer will release the expansion as both a physical copy and a DLC update. Those who are planning to get the package edition can expect it to land on Feb. 2, 2017.

Oddly enough, not everyone may be able to play the update. The only listing for the Road to Boruto update is for the PS4, so whether or not this is due to a PS4 exclusivity clause, Bandai Namco has yet to announce any confirmations.

It should be noted that, in Japan, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 shipped only to the PS4, with no Xbox One and PC versions. One possibility is that the expansion may see a limited release in Japan.

The game bundle will not only have the base game, but also the soundtrack for the original title and the update. Players can also access the Boruto's story in the update.

To sample this, a demo will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show, set to be held on Sept. 15 to 18.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 was released earlier this year on the PS4, PC, and Xbox One. It boasted the biggest roster of the series to date, and featured an adventure mode to explore villages and perform missions.
