Netflix isn’t slowing down its new anime releases. The latest Netflix anime film is My Oni Girl, which got a new trailer ahead of its May release date.
This new trailer not only gives fans a better idea of what to expect, but it also previews the film’s official theme song by the popular Japanese group ZUTOMAYO.
Netflix Shares New My Oni Girl Anime Trailer
My Oni Girl is an upcoming original anime film by Studio Colorido, the studio behind other Netflix anime such as Drifting Home and A Whisker Away. The studio also worked on the Burn the Witch #0.8 OVA.
As its title implies, this movie follows Hiiragi Yatsuse, a high school student who meets an oni girl named Tsumugi who journeys to the human world to look for her mother.
Soon, the two grow closer together as Tsumugi is a free-spirit and the opposite of Hiiragi who is a people-pleaser.

My Oni Girl Key Visual Cast and Theme Singers Revealed
For this film, Studio Colorido tapped many notable anime voice actors for its cast. The film’s main cast includes:
- Miyu Tomita (Miko Iino in Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as Tsumugi
- Kensho Ono (Giorno Giovanna in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) as Hiiragi Yatsuse
- Noriko Hidaka (Ursula Callistis in Little Witch Academia) as Shion
- Satoshi Mikami (Byakuya Ishigami in Dr. Stone) as Izuru
- Hisako Kyouda (Genkai in Yu Yu Hakusho) as Gozen
- Mitsuho Kambe (Izutsumi in Delicious in Dungeon) as Kaede Yatsuse
- Shouzou Sasaki (Jimmy in Nomad: Megalo Box 2) as Youichi Tanimoto
- Satsuki Yukino (Yoruichi Shihouin in Bleach) as Mikuri Yatsuse
- Aya Yamane (Riho Tsukishima in The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses) as Mio Takahashi
- Tomoko Shiota (Emma in Vinland Saga) as Shimako Yamashita
As for the film’s theme song, it is titled Truth in Lies. It is performed by ZUTOMAYO, the Japanese rock group best known for performing the second ending theme of Chainsaw Man.
Aside from the theme song, ZUTOMAYO is also performing an insert song for the film titled Blues in the Closet.

My Oni Girl Anime Movie to Release on Netflix in May
As with Studio Colorido and Netflix’s other collaborations, My Oni Girl will not get a theatrical release.
Instead, the film will be streamed exclusively on Netflix worldwide on May 24, 2024.
Currently, there’s no word on whether the film will get an English dub. It might get one at some point given that Studio Colorido’s other Netflix anime films also have English audio options.
