It's no secret to diehard fans of My Hero Academia that the creator of the hit manga-turned-anime Kohei Horikoshi is a massive fan of The Mandalorian. Apparently, Horikoshi takes his love for the StarWars spinoff series way too seriously, that he's integrated quite a few clever easter eggs in the title's ongoing manga series.

In the latest chapter of My Hero Academia that dropped over the weekend, the manga's new villains escaped prisons which names were directly taken from characters that appeared on The Mandalorian's first season.

The said prisons are called Kuin, Bagu, and Shian, direct nods to characters Qin, Burg, and Xi'an who formed a brief alliance with Mando in Season 1's "The Prisoner" before double-crossing the famed bounty hunter following their mission. That was the same episode that saw the debut of Bill Burr's Migs Mayfeld who would later become one of Din Djarin's allies but intriguingly, his character wasn't referenced in MHA.

Of course, some of you may think that it was all purely coincidental but taking into consideration Kohei's love and admiration for the Star Wars franchise, there's no doubt that it was his "way" (get it?) of paying homage to the show that he's been so addicted to. Now, it would be truly lovely if Lucasfilm could somehow repay the gesture by inserting a My Hero Academia reference in a future episode of the show. Maybe in Season 3?

That said, all episodes of The Mandalorian are available on Disney+.
