Three years after the World Heroes’ Mission movie was released in Japan, the new My Hero Academia: You’re Next movie finally has a release date.
As its Japanese premiere is fairly close, the movie also got new screenshots that give fans a better idea of what to expect regarding its story.
Much like the previous films in the franchise, the fourth movie will feature a brand-new villain, albeit one with a familiar face.
Fourth My Hero Academia Movie Will Feature a Villainous All Might
The fourth My Hero Academia movie got an intriguing teaser last month that revealed the new villain, Dark Might.
While seemingly a new character, this new foe that Deku and his fellow U.A. classmates will face looks very much like All Might. The mystery behind this villain will be at the center of this new movie’s story.
As shown in the latest set of screenshots shared on the movie’s official website, You’re Next will also introduce brand-new characters.
For fans wondering if this movie will be canon, it likely won’t be, as the other films aren’t exactly considered canon.
Still, some movie-original characters have appeared in the manga, including the first movie’s Melissa Shield.

My Hero Academia: You’re Next August Release Date Confirmed

My Hero Academia: You’re Next is set to be released in Japanese cinemas on August 2, 2024. This makes its release almost exactly three years after the third film’s premiere, as that movie was released on August 1, 2021.
Given that the third movie got a US cinema release, chances are that the fourth film will also get one later this year.
Predicting the Next My Hero Academia Movie’s US Release Date

Even though the World Heroes’ Mission movie was released on August 1, 2021, fans in the US had to wait until October 29 of that year before the film was screened in theaters.
However, a three-month gap between the Japanese and US cinematic releases is quite fast, especially as other movies have a bigger gap between releases.
If the fourth movie will have a similar schedule, then US fans can expect to see it in cinemas sometime in late October or early November 2024.
