My Hero Academia Season 5 premieres on March 27th, 2021, and fans have been anxiously awaiting the joint training arc which will be presented in the latest season. One of the hottest shonen properties of the last few years, this series has a devout following who has gorged on everything this series has offered since it first premiered in April 2016 making it into a runaway smash hit.

Originally a manga series created by Kōhei Horikoshi which launched in Weekly Shonen Jump starting in July 2014, the series has since received multiple television anime seasons, movies, video games, and spinoff stories. As of January 2021, there are 29 volumes in print in Japan with 26 in print in English also as of January 2021. The manga is still ongoing as of this writing.

In this superhero story, the main character is a young man named Izuku Midoriya who was born without a special power or "quirk" despite wanting one more than anything else in the world. One day, he is witnessed saving the life of his friend Katsuki Bakugo from a villain by just the right person. His all-time favorite hero, All Might, sees the potential in Izuku and lets him in on a secret: he is able to pass on his power to someone else and he has chosen him to receive the power "One For All". Now armed with a powerful quirk, Izuku enrolls in the prestigious U.A. High School and learns how to use his power to help humanity just like his favorite hero.

In the second season, the story covers the events from the end of the third manga volume up through the eighth volume, which covers both the sports festival arc and the introduction of the league of villains. In season three, the events cover the end of volume eight all the way up through volume fourteen. This season sees the rescue exercises arc and even more development of the league of villains while the students are studying to receive their provisional licenses.

With their provisional licenses obtained, the most recent season had students going out into the field and meeting a young girl named Eri who possesses a very special quirk that allows her to cancel out the quirks of others. They launch a rescue operation to get her away from the dangerous situation she's in.

My Hero Academia Season 5 will premiere on March 27th at 5:30 pm JST (Japan Standard Time). It will occupy the same Saturday time slot on Japanese networks, YTV and NTV. My Hero Academia Season 5 is estimated to run for 25 episodes.

As mentioned, My Hero Academia will premiere at 5:30 pm JST, which puts it at 12:30 am Pacific/3:30 am Eastern. If previous seasons are any indication, the new episodes will go up shortly afterward, which means it'll be a perfect Sunday morning treat to consume with some cereal or whatever your preferred breakfast treat happens to be.

TOHO Animation released the first promotional video for the latest season of My Hero Academia on February 27th, which previews the new opening theme song "No.1." by the band DISH. The promotional video highlights an intense battle between the students of class 1A and 1B and ends with the sound of one student screaming as it looks as though Izuku is going to unleash another powerful attack on an unsuspecting opponent.

All the previous seasons are available to watch currently on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. There have been zero announcements that any of these streaming services have decided not to stream the fifth season, so it's a fair assumption that the new season will continue to stream on these services. It is worth noting, however, that Funimation's English dub of the series may face significant delays because of the current worldwide pandemic, which is continuing to slow down their current production schedule.
