My Hero Academia: Bakugo Actor Nobuhiko Okamoto Diagnosed with COVID-19


It may have been two years but COVID-19 is still a huge problem worldwide. It has now affected another actor in Japan. My Hero Academia voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto has just been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is reportedly staying home after the diagnosis.

Nobuhiko Okamoto's talent management agency Pro Fit announced on Thursday, February 24 that the voice actor has been diagnosed with the new coronavirus disease. According to the agency, Okamoto took a PCR test on Tuesday, February 22 and confirmed positive the following day. The agency also revealed that he is currently asymptomatic and will be treated at home under the guidance of the health center.

Fans are understandably concerned about Okamoto after the news was dropped. Although it doesn't look like the production on My Hero Academia Season 6 has started yet, the Katsuki Bakugo actor has other shows to work on. He is currently playing Yukei Saruhashi in the new anime Salarymen's Club.

For now, it is unclear when Okamoto could start working again. In the meantime, we are hoping he recovers soon.

Okamoto isn't the only voice actor who was recently diagnosed with COVID-19. Platinum End star Saori Onishi had also tested positive. Her talent agency I'm Enterprise announced on Thursday that the voice actress took a PCR test and went into quarantine after Onishi was told that she was in close contact with someone with COVID-19.

My Hero Academia has been confirmed for a sixth season after Season 5 concluded in September last year. However, it has not yet been revealed when Season 6 will begin production. In addition to that, the anime's return has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
