After a five-week hiatus, My Dearest has returned to MBC to continue the second part of the series. Its return was marked with a cameo appearance of the Hangout With Yoo cast. Unfortunately, the appearance of the variety show members did not sit well with the show's viewers.

Hangout With Yoo Cameo on My Dearest Part 2
In the premiere episode of My Dearest Part 2, avid fans were in for a surprise. The cast members of the hit MBC variety show, Hangout With Yoo, appeared on the historical Kdrama series as guests.
All of the members of the variety show were given small roles in the Kdrama, which starred Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin. The cast of Hangout With Yoo includes Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Joo Woo-jae, Park Jin-joo, Lee Yi-kyung, and Mijoo.
On October 14th, the first cameo scene with Jae-suk and Haha aired on My Dearest Part 2's 12th episode. The two played enslaved farmers who got into an argument as they were toiling in the fields.
While the appearance of the two brought laughter to some viewers, not everyone was amused.
Hangout With Yoo Cameo Backlash on My Dearest Part 2
On Naver, fans complained that the appearance of the Hangout With Yoo cast members was unnecessary. They were also said to have taken away the show's serious tone with their appearance.
Many also pointed out that My Dearest follows the suffering of Joseon people in the midst of the Qing invasion from 1636 to 1637. The appearance of the variety show members poked fun at this.
While the ending of the 12th episode hinted that additional Hangout With Yoo cast members would be appearing in the next episode, this seemed to have been scrapped.
When the 13th episode aired on October 20, the cameo scenes that starred Woo-jae, Mijoo, Yi-kyung, and Jin-joo were nowhere to be seen. The episode only hinted at Yi-kyung's voice in the background.
Many believe that MBC decided to scrape the cameo scenes by the variety show members after the backlash that My Dearest received. However, MBC has not issued an official statement regarding this.
