Is There Romance in My Dearest?
To put it bluntly: yes, there is romance in My Dearest.
The Kdrama follows the story of Lee Jang-hyun (played by Namkoong Min) and Yoo Gil-chae (played by Ahn Eun-jin) and how they were separated from each other.
The historical romance drama was separated into two parts: the first part showcased how the two met and fell in love with each other. In the later episodes, we also see the events that led to them getting separated.
Is My Dearest Based on a True Story?
No, My Dearest is not based on a true story. But the writer of the series, Hwang Jin-young, drew inspiration from the classic novel, Gone With the Wind.
The series follows the story of a couple who seemed to be destined together but fell in love at the wrong time.
Namkoong Min plays the role of Lee Jang-hyun, a nobleman who never planned on getting married. But the moment he laid eyes on Yoo Gil-chae (played by Ahn Eun-jin), things changed. Jang-hyun describes the moment as "hearing the sound of flowers."
Unfortunately, fate is not on their side as they fall in love at a time when their country is on the brink of war. The lovebirds get separated as they struggle to keep their loved ones safe.
What to Expect From My Dearest Part 2?
After the heartbreaking ending of My Dearest Part 1 last September, avid fans are eager to watch what happens next.
My Dearest Part 2 is now available and will continue on the events that transpired from the previous part. Although the two have been separated, they will likely find their way together again.
The second part of the Kdrama is also expected to reveal the identity of the mysterious woman in the finale. Hopefully, her role will not add to the struggle that Jang-hyun and Gil-chae already face.
