In the case of My Dearest Kdrama, the show is not based on a webtoon but from a different source. The show's writer, Hwang Jin-young, has revealed that My Dearest was based on a 1936 novel called Gone With the Wind.
This is a classic novel with numerous adaptations around the world. For the Kdrama, the show was split into two parts with 10 episodes each. The first part aired on MBC TV from August 4 to September 2, 2023.
Meanwhile, the second part made its premiere on October 13th.
What is My Dearest K-Drama Story About?
My Dearest is a historical drama that follows the story of two lovers in the middle of the Qing invasion of Joseon in the 17th century.
While there have been several historical shows released as of late, these shows add an element of fantasy to it. Some feature characters that have been reincarnated from the past or mythical creatures.
My Dearest shuns away from this and focuses on the heartfelt story of a love-stricken couple in the middle of a war.
As is the message in the show, My Dearest tells its viewers that there is hope and positivity even in the middle of a challenging time.
What Happens in My Dearest K-Drama Part 2?
After the cliffhanger ending of My Dearest Part 1, avid fans will have to stay glued to their seats when the second part gets released.
The first part of the Kdrama focused on the twist in how Lee Jang-hyun (played by Namkoong Min) and Yoo Gil-chae (played by Ahn Eun-jin) got separated.
With the Kdrama show returning on October 13, viewers will get to see how the two will reunite and prove that love conquers all.
The second part of the Kdrama will also reveal the identity of the mysterious woman in the finale. Hopefully, she won't be there to put a dent in the relationship of the couple.
