Wizards of the Coast is revealing all five guild mechanics of Ravnica Allegiance this week. We've already seen the mechanic for Rakdos yesterday, and today, it's Orzhov's turn.
The black/white Ravnica guild's mechanic is Afterlife, an ability that spawns a 1/1 black/white Spirit token or more when the creature with Afterlife dies. Here's the official spotlight video that features the Planeswalker Kaya:
Here are the two cards revealed with Afterlife so far: Imperious Oligarch and Tithe Taker.
Imperious Oligarch is not a bad common. A 2/1 Vigilance with Afterlife 1 for only 2 mana is good value
Tithe Taker could potentially see play in Modern Death & Taxes decks.

Pre-release events for Ravnica Allegiance will take place on January 19, 2019; the set will officially be released on January 25.
