Ms. Marvel was a huge success from both the critics and the audience when it aired on Disney+ last summer. While the titular hero is expected to make her next appearance in The Marvels, a lot of fans are wondering whether the series will be getting a second season which would mark her second solo journey in the MCU.
Now, it looks like that another installment of the hit MCU series is now a possibility as notable insider Daniel Richtman (via The Direct) has reported that Marvel Studios has greenlit a second season of Ms. Marvel for Disney+. However, he didn't provide more details beyond it.
We do have to take note that neither Marvel Studios nor Disney+ has made any official confirmation regarding the potential second season of Ms. Marvel so we have to take it with a grain of salt for now.
Considering that the series was a hit and the titular hero became an instant fan favorite in the MCU, it's not surprising to hear that they might be doing a second season. It would be a great way for them to explore Kamala Khan's new life as a superhero and give us more solo moments from her.
It's hard to speculate right now what kind of story they might tell in the second season since we have to wait until The Marvels to find out where Kamala is up to now in the MCU at that point and how it could lead to a potential second season of the series now that she's going to team-up with her idol Captain Marvel.
In addition, if they push through with a second season of the series, it's also interesting to see if it's going to be part of Phase Six before the next two Avengers films or if they'll have it be part of Phase Seven instead. Either way, it's also exciting to hear the possibility that it will be getting a second season.
