Just when you thought the Marvel Cinematic Universe couldn't get any bigger, the franchise has officially planted the seeds for the arrival of Earth-616's next generation of heroes. Leading the charge is a beloved "champion" who is set to headline her own series this year. Now, Marvel Studios finally unveiled our first official look at the newest spinoff project Ms. Marvel starring newcomer Iman Vellani and to call it invigorating would be a true understatement.
The official full-length trailer for the project gives us a glimpse of the life and times of an average teenage girl named Kamala Khan who happens to be a massive fan of the Avengers. Trying her best to blend in, her path leads her to something truly spectacular.
One day, she stumbles upon an ancient artifact owned by her ancestors that gives her superhuman and cosmic abilities. And as previous reports claimed, it does appear like Kamala is exchanging her ability to "embiggen" to adopt cosmic powers much like her hero Captain Marvel. Check out the astonishing trailer here:

The upcoming series is unlike anything Marvel Studios has released on Disney's namesake streaming service and I gotta say, it looks like a much-needed break from all action the franchise has been giving us over the last couple of months. I mean, it's cool and all but we definitely need something more lighthearted to balance everything out and Ms. Marvel is that show.
Ms. Marvel begins streaming on June 8 exclusively on Disney+.
