Ms. Marvel Director Reveals Post-Credits Scene's Connection to The Marvels

Marvel fans had a diverse reaction to the MCU's new hero, Ms. Marvel. In fact, prior to its release, the Disney+ show was dragged due to the unexpected power change and even fueled more criticisms when Marvel Studios decided to alter the young heroine's origins from Inhumans to Mutant.

However, the show still made a tremendous impact by verifying that she is the MCU's first mutant and that amazing post-credits scene featuring Brie Larson's Captain Marvel, hinting at a future crossover in The Marvels.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Ms. Marvel's director Adil El Arbi breaks down the finale's post-credits scene where fans saw Kamala seemingly switching places with Carol Danvers.

"The post credit scene was actually shot by Nia DaCosta for The Marvels," the director revealed. "So she didn't know, also, that this was going to be the post credit scene. That's yeah, that's how [Kevin Feige] operates. Everybody's pretty separate and they don't know why they do some stuff, but he probably said the same thing to her — 'Just focus on that.' And for us, the same. We were, the whole time, asking 'Are we going to have Brie Larson doing a cameo or something?' And they would always give an answer, 'Don't worry about it. You'll see.' And we discovered that while we were calibrating the episode. All of a sudden, after the credits, we saw that and we're like,'Oh, okay! I guess it happens.'"

Well, it appears that Marvel Studios along with the whole crew of Ms. Marvel are keeping the details behind this post-credits scene restricted to the audience, or maybe they don't really have an idea. Several theories surfaced right after the contentious post-credits of the Disney+ show, including a theory that suggests that it was just another comically accurate ability of Kamala, where she can shapeshift into Captain Marvel.

Kamala Khan would return in The Marvels and would unite with her on-screen idol Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). Hopefully, The Marvels would ultimately unravel why Carol Danvers and Kamala switched places across the universe.

All episodes of Ms. Marvel are available to stream on Disney+, while The Marvels will premiere on July 28, 2023.
