Twitter released the top 10 K-dramas and movies that were the most talked about by users globally.
At the Content Marketing Summit 2022 held in Seoul, Yeon Jeong Kim, Global K-pop & K-Contents Partnership head, talked about Twitter’s influence on K-wave.
Interestingly, besides Asian countries, America and the United Kingdom were also among the top countries tweeting the most about K-contents.
These Twitter activities are based on January 1 to August 18, 2022, where South Korea topped the list, followed by Thailand, the U.S, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Brazil, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
Landing at 11th to 20th place are Mexico, Canada, France, Vietnam, Spain, Singapore, Italy, Turkey, Germany, and Peru.
Snowdrop Hailed as Most-Tweeted K-drama of 2022
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Jung Hae In’s Snowdrop made it as the most-talked-about K-drama of 2022.
To recall, prior to its premiere, the Blinks and K-drama fans awaited the highly anticipated release of Snowdrop after it got embroiled in a controversy.
Fortunately, despite a few bumps on the road, viewers get to see the chemistry between BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Jung Hae In as the 16-part episode of Snowdrop officially airs on December 18, 2022.
From melodrama to rom-com Twenty Five, Twenty One, starring Nam Joo Hyuk and Kim Tae Ri ranked second in most tweeted K-dramas of 2022.
The tvN series scored a double-digit viewership rating until its finale.
Without a doubt, the blockbuster K-drama from Netflix also made it to the list as All of Us Are Dead and Squid Game landed the fourth and tenth place.

Broker Tops Most Tweeted Korean Movie of 2022
It’s no surprise why Broker was named the most-talked about Korean movie of 2022.
Apart from its successful theatrical release, the Koreeda Hirokazu-directed film was also among the competitors at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
Broker stars renowned actor Song Kang Ho, singer-actress IU, Kang Dong Won, Bae Doona, and Lee Joo Young.
Interestingly, besides getting a standing ovation from the crowd during its worldwide premiere, Song Kang Ho, made history as the first South Korean actor who took home the Best Actor Award at the prestigious festival.
Broker is followed by another movie that also made its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2022.
Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung’s Hunt ranked second on the most tweeted K-movie of 2022, followed by the highly anticipated sequel, The Witch: Part 2. The Other One.
Interestingly, among the 10 K-movies, only the Oscar-winner, Parasite was not released in 2022 but managed to be among the most talked about Korean movies this year.
