If you have sat on a chair and played the game, you may have an idea on who the cast of the movie would be because they literally pluck out characters from there.

Being the lead of the first movie, Lewis Tan is expected to be back as Cole Young in Mortal Kombat 2 to lead the charge as the big battle is teased to arrive.

There is also Jessica McNamee who plays Sonya Blade because she just got her powers in the end of the first movie and her character is one of the fan-favorites.

There's Jax Briggs to be played by Mehcad Brooks who may have lost his arms at first but further reached his full potential in the first film.

Ludi Lin is also expected to reprise his role as Liu Kang as one of the champions.

More of Lord Raiden is a popular fan call, thus, Tadanobu Asano would also be suiting up for his role once more.

Joe Taslim, who played Bi-Han/ Sub-Zero, would be back as well and he even teased that he signed in on four movies which could mean that Mortal Kombat 2 is not the end and there are more movies coming up.

With the characters having a way around death, expect the dead characters to come back as well.

Max Huang who plays Kung Lao teased on Twitter about his possible return for Mortal Kombat 2.

A face-off between Sub-Zero and Scorpion is possible, too, which could mark Hiroyuki Sanada's return as Hanzo Hasashi.

Josh Lawson, who played Kano, could reprise his role as well because, well, characters never actually stay dead.

Teased in the first movie, Johnny Cage would suit up as a champion in Mortal Kombat 2 and reportedly, Karl Urban would be playing the role.

Other than Cage, as per The Hollywood Reporter, Tati Gabrielle is in the final talks to play Jade.

When there is Jade, there is Shao Kahn and Princess Kitana, however, there are no actors attached yet to these roles.

Also expected for Mortal Kombat 2 are Quan Chi, Sindel, and Baraka but there are no confirmed names yet for these roles.
