On March 14, 2024, VTuber Mori Calliope, who has more than two million subscribers on YouTube, told her fans that she was going to perform the Suicide Squad Isekai anime's ending song.
The VTuber explained that, having studied the art of comics, she's a big fan of DC so she feels this is a perfect fit for her.
Mori Calliope's persona is a shinigami who introduces herself as "Grim Reaper's first apprentice," who had to turn to VTube to reap souls due to the decline in reaping business caused by modern medicine.
In the announcement video shared by Warner Bros, she described singing a Suicide Squad Isekai anime song as a "death-long dream."
What Is Mori Calliope's Suicide Squad Isekai Song?
While the ending song of Suicide Squad Isekai isn't available yet, Mori Calliope has revealed its title, Go-Getters.
In the recent video shared by Warner Bros, the VTuber describes the song's theme as being about "expressing yourself without any fear."
She explains that the song affirms the importance of being yourself and living loudly even if others perceive you as a villain.
"Who is more shameless than a Suicide Squad?" she jokes. "Maybe Mori." Upon saying this, she immediately admits that she's pretty shy and hopes to use this song to hype up herself and her audience.
In terms of its style, Mori describes the song as "catchy," saying that she loves the chorus and that there's a bit of Japanese rap in there.
While this is Mori Calliope's first anime collaboration, she has often released her own dynamic songs on her YouTube channel.
