Morbius Teaser Features Unexpected Spider-Man Villain Easter Eggs

It has been a long time since we got any updates on Morbius. Luckily, a new trailer is coming and a vignette focusing on Michael Morbius has been revealed. Interestingly, the teaser features more footage from the upcoming Marvel movie. In addition to that, it may have revealed that the vampire will be joined by more Spider-Man villains.

We already know that Morbius will feature Michael Keaton's Vulture, who originally appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now, a new teaser for the Sony Pictures movie drops a cool Easter egg that gives us clues as to which comic book villains exist in this particular universe.

In this scene, Morbius finds a newspaper that features him as the headline. However, there are smaller headlines on the paper as well. One speculates on how Rhino can be stopped while another one wonders whether Black Cat is a friend or foe.

This is an interesting possibility considering that Sony is determined to establish a universe revolving around Spider-Man while also introducing other comic book characters connected to him. It all started with Venom and now it looks like Morbius could introduce Rhino and Black Cat. On the other hand, these might simply be small Easter eggs teasing the future.

Morbius is possibly Sony's most delayed comic book movie right now. Although the film was supposed to be released in July 2020 but needed to be pushed back to March 2021. The studio then decided to delay it even further to 2022. Hopefully, the new release date will stick and we'll get to see the movie next year.

Morbius stars Jared Leto as Michael Morbius, Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Simon Stroud, Al Madrigal as Alberto Rodriguez, and Jared Harris as Morbius' mentor. The film is currently scheduled for release on January 28, 2022.
