Moon Knight Star Oscar Isaac Calls Role the Most Challenging of His Career

Playing a superhero is no joke as actors have to maintain their fitness and go through extensive fight training for months. Then, there's also the suit that they have to wear all day on the set during filming. Despite the challenges, most actors who have played a superhero still love the entire experience.

During an interview in Variety's Awards Circuit Podcast, Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac, who plays the titular hero in the upcoming MCU series, discussed the grueling workload of playing the role and loving it even though it is the most challenging of his career.

The actor said, "Speaking with Kevin [Feige], I told him I'm going to come in with these big ideas, and if you don't like them, that's fair. And immediately, we saw it all. I found so much room to do things that I've never done before and had been curious about and wanting to do. I could not wait to get to set, and it was the biggest workload I've ever had in my career and most challenging; by the sheer amount of stuff we had to do in eight months, and even yet, I couldn't wait to get to set and work."

It is nice to hear that Isaac enjoyed the entire experience of playing the character despite the challenges that he faced. Of course, it is not his first rodeo when it comes to high-profile projects like Moon Knight as he has starred before as Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and played villain En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. But none of them comes close to what he has to do when it comes to playing Moon Knight.

It is not surprising that he called playing Moon Knight the most challenging of his career since it is a physically demanding role and different from any roles that he has done before. If you've read the comics, you'll know that the character does a lot of combat. Before filming started earlier this year, a video resurfaced in which we can see Isaac's preparation on the fighting choreography which showed that he really is committed to playing the role.
