Moon Knight: Ethan Hawke Reveals Unusual Way He Researched for Marvel Series Role

There is little doubt that the best way to prepare for a comic book role is to read comic books. However, Ethan Hawke realized he didn't have to go to the store to learn everything. The Sinister star revealed that an expert in all things Marvel was already living under his roof and was more than happy to help him prepare for his role in the upcoming Moon Knight series.

Fans were understandably intrigued when Ethan Hawke was confirmed to join the Moon Knight series. Although his role was undisclosed, it was revealed that Hawke will portray the villain in the Disney+ show.

So who is Hawke playing in Moon Knight? Only a few people, including the cast and crew, already know the identity of his character. Interestingly, Hawke has just confirmed that he told another person as well: his son.

Hawke recently spoke to Variety where he admitted that he has a hard time keeping all the Marvel secrets. Since he can't resist sharing spoilers, Hawke decided to tell his son everything.

"It's not in my personality to just not rifle all kind of information out. It's so difficult for me," Hawke said. "My son has to know everything."

But why spill everything to his own child? Hawke revealed that his son actually knows more about Marvel than he does and proved to be an expert in all things MCU who helped him with his research.

"He's 19, he was the perfect age for the Marvel universe. You know, he came of age as that whole explosion has happened. So whenever I needed to know the backstory behind this god or this character, he's like, 'Ah, Dad! Let me correct you on that.' So he was my go-to resource," Hawke said.

It's great to know that Hawke and his son were able to work out how they could help each other. Hawke got to learn more about the MCU and talk about the show while his son had the benefit of learning all about the Moon Knight series before anybody else. It's a win-win situation but we're hoping both of them won't be dropping spoilers soon.

Moon Knight will star Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector. The series has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
