Moon Knight Episode 2 Might Have Just Retconned Mr. Knight

Warning: if you haven't seen Episode 2 of Moon Knight, this article contains spoilers so read at your own risk!

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that Moon Knight's first episode isn't the easiest to digest. Thankfully, Episode 2 finally erases all of the confusion as it gives us a more in-depth look at Marc Spector and his split personalities. Titled "Summon the Suit", the latest entry in the thrilling Marvel Cinematic Universe series finally introduced fans to Mr. Knight, but if you're an avid follower of the Moon Knight comics, you may feel bewildered by the character's overall presentation.

You see, in the comics, Mr. Knight is also an extension of Marc Spector much like his other split personalities. Unlike the oftentimes ruthless Moon Knight, Mr. Knight is a more grounded hero who works with the police and is more of a detective-type. However, Episode 2 pretty much presented him as Steven Grant in costume which seems a bit odd, especially to the folks who read the comics.

Now, nothing has been officially confirmed yet but by the looks of things, Marvel Studios might have retconned the Mr. Knight character. Longtime followers of the comics may not like the sound of it but from an MCU standpoint, presenting him as Steven Grant's superhero alter-ego makes the character less confusing to casual fans. Personally, I like the idea of Grant having his own hero identity because just like we saw in the episode, it gives him the confidence he needs.

Moon Knight's second episode is now streaming on Disney+.
