Following the popularity of Squid Game and Money Heist Korea, Park Hae Soo scored another milestone after signing under the international talent label, United Talent Agency (UTA.)

According to Deadline, “it comes after a major courtship by the Hollywood agencies to the cast and creatives behind the smash hit Korean dystopian drama series.”

Park Hae Soo Signs Under Hollywood’s UTA

With this, the 40-year-old South Korean star is the newest celebrity to join an international talent agency, which is a major deal in his career.

While Park Hae Soo is among the talents of UTA, he will be continuously represented by BH Entertainment Co. in South Korea.

The California-based label is a global talent agency that represents celebrities and other professionals across the entertainment industry.

Some of their talents are Benedict Cumberbatch, Johnny Depp, James McAvoy, Anthony Hopkins, Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, Directors M. Night Shyamalan, Wes Anderson, and more.

In addition, Park Hae Soo’s Money Heist Korea co-star Jeon Jong Seo previously signed with UTA last May.

From Squid Game Villain to Money Heist Korea’s Berlin

The Netflix series took the world by storm as the nine-part episode series featured death-defying games that the 456 participants needed to accomplish to bring home the 45.6 billion KRW prize.

In Squid Game, viewers witnessed Park Hae Soo’s versatility as he took the villain role.

Due to his outstanding performance, he was nominated in various ceremonies such as Best Supporting Actor at the 1st Blue Dragon Series Awards, Best Supporting Actor in Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards 2022, and his recent Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series alongside veteran actor and Squid Game co-star Oh Young Soo at the Primetime Emmy Awards 2022.

Unfortunately, it seems like Park Hae Soo is among the cast members who will not reprise their roles in Squid Game 2.

To recall, his character was killed in the last episode after Lee Jung Jae, who played Seong Gi Hoon was declared the winner.

The creator and director, Hwang Dong Hyuk previously confirmed that Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, and Gong Yoo will return in the highly anticipated season.

Following his achievement and recognition through Squid Game, the 40-year-old actor surprised viewers with his stunning portrayal of Berlin in Money Heist Korea.

Originally, the role was played by Spanish actor Pedro Alonso, but Park Hae Hoo was able to play the character on his own.

Interestingly, the Korean remake will return for part 2 and is set to be released sometime this year.

For OG K-drama viewers, Squid Game and Money Heist Korea are just among Park Hae Soo’s remarkable projects.

He first gained popularity after headlining the 2017 K-drama Prison Playbook, where he took the role of a famous baseball player, Kim Jue Hyuk, who was wrongfully accused of killing someone.

The life drama series led Park Hae Soo to bag the Best New Actor award at The Seoul Awards.

Park Hae Soo’s New Drama and Movie

Besides returning to Money Heist Korea Part 2, Park Hae Soo will also join the cast of the action crime drama The Accidental Narco, together with Hwang Jung Min, Yoo Yeon Seok, Ha Jung Woo, and Jo Woo Jin as lead stars.

Adding to the list of his upcoming projects is the espionage film Ghost.

The action-historical film will also be led by a star-studded cast including Honey Lee, Park So Dam, and Sol Kyung Gu.
