MODOK was Almost in Avengers: Infinity War

With every Marvel movie, we get modern iterations of classic characters from the comics. What we didn't know, however, is that we very nearly got giant floating head MODOK (Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing) on the big screen.

Avengers: Infinity War co-writer Christopher Markus revealed to the Fat-Man on Batman (via ScreenRant) podcast:

"I've wanted to put MODOK in, and it's very hard to go 'here's the supporting character the giant head'.' And then we're going to get on with the story. We just came to him for information. Like you kind of have to design the whole movie around the guy with the giant head."

It's no mystery that Infinity War was already pretty packed, and though Thanos was pretty fleshed out, the other new characters that we are introduced to barely got to be fleshed out. It's even a miracle that Peter Dinklage's character was as developed as he was.

Markus, however, is still positive that we could get MODOK somewhere down the line. He says:

"I have love for MODOK and I still think properly done he'd be terrifying. Like you look all the way down the hall and like this huge head comes around the corner and starts coming and...oh, it would be awesome."

With plenty more Marvel films set to come out after Avengers 4, I have no doubt that the MCU will find a way to bring in someone as silly as MODOK to the big screen. I mean, they were able to make Zola's "face-on-a-screen" gimmick work. I'd be impressed if they made MODOK fit in with the Marvel universe.

Avengers 4 is set to come out May 3, 2019.
