Mob Psycho 100 Gets Spin-Off Series Starring Reigen, Seriously

One of the most beautifully odd anime/manga out there, Mob Psycho 100, is about to get the spin-off series nobody asked for. Then again, maybe everyone asked for this, who knows? Rather than focus on the uber-powerful Mob, the spin-off will focus on his powerless sensei Reigen, though only for a short single volume manga.

According to Shogakukan (via Anime News Network), the series will be called Reigen: The Man with Max 131 Spiritual Power. Lasting only one volume from the artist known as ONE, who has also worked on One Punch Man, the manga will focus on jobs Reigen can do without Mob's help, which sounds hilarious to those that have seen the anime or have read the original webcomic.

In the short volume, Reigen will have a new assistant, a high school girl who works part-time for him. Since she probably won't be as gullible as Mob, the character will likely find out that Reigen is a hack who managed to get lucky a few times, usually with Mob's help. It will be fun seeing how the character worms his way out of these situations.

Fans will be able to pick up Reigen: The Man with Max 131 Spiritual Power on February 19 in Japan. No Western release date has been unveiled as of this writing.
