Missing Episode IX Part Of Star Wars Celebration Mural Finally Revealed

The release of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer was certainly worth the wait as we are now seeing the first images from the highly anticipated film. In addition to that, the missing section of the Star Wars Celebration that honors every Star Wars movie and series has finally been unveiled.

Fans were excited to see the gigantic mural at McCormick Place in Chicago. However, the Episode IX section was still missing until the second day of Star Wars Celebration. Luckily, that changed as soon as J.J. Abrams released the Rise of Skywalker trailer at the Episode IX panel. Take a look at the image below.

The Rise of Skywalker part of the mural shows Kylo Ren (wearing his newly fixed helmet), Rey, Poe Dameron, Finn, and Chewbacca. You can also spot C-3PO, R2-D2, BB-8, and the new droid D-O, who was introduced at the panel.

It's interesting that the Rise of Skywalker section of the mural focuses on the younger actors. Nevertheless, it could be a hint at what we could expect in the film later this year.

Much of the Episode IX panel touched upon Rey, Finn, Poe, and Chewie setting off on a mission. It certainly looks like Rise of Skywalker will focus on the current trilogy's new characters. Unfortunately, this could mean we won't be seeing a lot of Luke Skywalker or Leia Organa. Nevertheless, we can rest assured that the beloved characters from the original trilogy will still get the screentime they deserve.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently scheduled for release on December 20.
