Minecraft Artist Builds a Pokemon Go Charger Charging Center in 3D

If you've been playing Pokemon Go, you know just how much power it drains from your phone. After all, Pokemon Go needs to be open so you can track the next nearest ‘mon or count your daily steps towards hatching that incubated egg.

This is one of the reasons why Minecraft artist Spencer Kern developed a unique project, one that not only creates a cool battery pack—he does this with an extra flair for the franchise.

Over at Sway, Kern had detailed the steps he undertook to create a Pokemon Center charging station. Everyone knows what a Pokemon Center is—it's one of those buildings that offers to heal ‘mons for free in the game.

While we don't have a Pokemon Center in Pokemon Go, Kern created the charging center as inspired by what the main games' version does.

"I thought it would be fun to re-create a Pokemon Center from the main games and use it as a charging station for trainers to hang out and heal their power drained phones."

The project is essentially to create a shell around a 400 solar generator. It will require installing a USB on it so it can provide power from anywhere between 10 to 12 smartphones at the same time.

Those who are interested in recreating the project for themselves can try to follow the steps enumerated by Kern in the link above. Most of the wood pieces necessary as well as their measurements are already outlined. You would also need 3D printing for the decorative parts.

It does take some effort, but when you have a finished product like this, you know it's worth it.

Kern has already tested it out for the weekend of Pokemon Go play. Not only will you get to have enough power for a number of people out to catch ‘em all, you're also doing it in the best style possible.
