Microsoft Announces Gears of War 5 with New Trailer

Multiple new game trailers have been released with E3 2018, and Xbox has given us our first look at the upcoming Gears of War game.

Here's the official description for Gears 5:

In Gears 5 as Kait, journey across the biggest, most beautiful Gears world ever created. Play solo or with a friend in local split-screen co-op, or online co-op and experience every mode in 4K Ultra HD resolution with stunning HDR at a smooth 60 frames per second.

The game promises to bring back fan favorites like Cole Train, Marcus Fenix, as well as his son, but we're sure to see more familiar characters pop up as well. No doubt we're going to see another member of the Carmine family bite the dust in one way or another.

Besides the announcement of the Xbox One game, Microsoft has also announced two Gears of War spinoffs from The Coalition. A mobile game called Gears Pop is on the way, as well as a strategy game called Gears Tactics.

With the last game coming out in 2016, Gears of War remains to be one of the most recognizable titles that is an Xbox exclusive. Personally I think the games are kind of repetitive, but I always enjoy a nice shoot-em-up whenever I can.

Gears 5 comes out sometime in 2019.
