Michelle Pfeiffer on Signing Up for Ant-Man and the Wasp

The first Ant-Man movie left the fate of the first Wasp ambiguous, and we know that she will be appearing in the sequel this time played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer opens up about landing the role of Janet Pym and talks a bit about her initial doubts before she got the role.

Talking to News 18, Pfeiffer explained:

"My first exposure to Marvel would have been Spider-Man and then Iron Man, both of which I really loved. I guess I discovered Marvel through my children. Then I saw Ant-Man, and I really loved it. At first I thought Ant-Man? I was not familiar with the superhero Ant-Man. By the sound of it I was a little skeptical, but I really was pleasantly surprised. I've always been such a Paul Rudd fan, and the movie was really smart and really funny and also grounded in reality in way that it had this very unusual tone to it that I think set it apart from a lot of the other superhero movies that I had seen."

So far, we don't know how the movie plans to pull Janet out of the Quantum Realm, but I have a feeling that it will have some connection with the villain Ghost. Of course, my guess just comes from a released LEGO set, but it's possible that the characters were just brought together for the toyline.

After the events of Infinity War, I'm curious if this movie is supposed to take place before or after Thanos' invasion, but seeing that everyone in the trailer seems to be acting normal, I have a good guess that this film takes place before Avengers 3.

Catch Ant-Man and the Wasp in theaters July 5.
