Michael Douglas Has One Surprising Condition for Ant-Man 4 Return

Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas has been a mainstay in the MCU ever since the first Ant-Man film in 2015 as he's playing the role of Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, and has also served as the mentor of Scott Lang throughout his journey as the hero.

Considering that the actor has been part of the franchise for several years now and he is also busy with other projects aside from the MCU, there are fans who are wondering how long will he stay in the franchise and whether he will return to future projects after Quantumania.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter during Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's red carpet premiere event (via The Direct), Douglas was asked whether he will return in a fourth Ant-Man film if ever he gets asked by Marvel.

The actor gave a very direct answer as he said that he will return "as long as [Hank Pym] could die."

However, in a separate interview with Variety, Douglas expressed his enthusiasm for continuing to play Hank Pym in the MCU and how he's "happy" about his experience doing the films.

"It’s a lifetime. It’s an entire generation. I think you have met Kathryn [Newton]. So now, we have a third generation in there. It’s certainly nice, with certain continuity. Every five years, it’s sort of a nice time, kind of ‘Oh man, we got to get back to the suits and all of that.’ You [just have] to enjoy it. I’m happy to be there. I’ve always had a lovely time with the whole cast and the crew," he said.

Since the general audience has not seen Quantumania, it is hard to tell right now whether Hank Pym survived by the end of the film so we don't know yet if there is a chance that he'll appear in the fourth installment at all and it would be a different conversation once a lot of us have seen it.

Based on his comments, it looks like the actor wouldn't mind getting his character killed off if Marvel Studios decide to end his tenure in the film. However, as we also pointed out, it is too early to tell since haven't seen Quantumania although we know that a fourth film is already in the works.
