Michael B. Jordan Breaks Silence on Killmonger's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Return

One of the biggest surprises in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was the family member who meets Shuri in the Ancestral Plane. Still, it was a cool way to bring back Eric Killmonger despite the character's death in the first movie. Now, Michael B. Jordan has finally addressed N'Jadaka's return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Shuri recreates the heart-shaped herb and ingests it to see her family in the Ancestral Plane. But instead of seeing her brother or mother, Shuri is greeted by Eric Killmonger sitting in the throne room. He urges her to take revenge for what happened to Ramonda and although it looked like Shuri was headed down the same path, she ultimately chooses peace with Namor and the Talokan.

It was an unexpected return considering that Michael B. Jordan had previously stated that he is not part of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. But since the cameo has been revealed, Jordan has admitted to Extra TV that there was a lot of deception involved to keep his appearance in the film a secret.

"I had to lie to my family over here," Jordan said. "I had to lie to everybody out here… I had to just keep it under wraps… When you're dealing with Marvel and stuff like that, you know the routine. So you just gotta, you know, deny, deny, deny, deny, deny until the end of it, yeah."

Although Michael B. Jordan had to deceive his own family about the cameo, it all paid off in the end. Nobody expected Killmonger to be the one to meet Shuri in the Ancestral Plane and it proved that she needed to see a physical manifestation of the path she was about to take.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was directed by Ryan Coogler and also stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Martin Freeman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Angela Bassett.
