Meghan Markle has been getting mixed reviews on her podcast Archetypes. Some listeners are happy with the Duchess of Sussex’s topics, while others think that she does nothing else but complain about the injustices that she experienced.
Meghan Markle Sounds Unnatural, Scripted On Her Podcast Archetypes?
Following this week’s episode, commentator Daisy McAndrew talked about Meghan Markle’s interviews and said that she sounds unnatural and scripted. McAndrew also said that it would be better if the Duchess of Sussex drops the script and speaks from her heart.
“I don’t always approve of Meghan. She has annoyed me intensely in the past. But I understand where she’s coming from; I get it. I find her podcast sounds to me very scripted and quite unspontaneous. I wish she would rip up the script. There are occasions where she goes off script, and she sounds much more genuine and authentic, which of course, is the whole point about a podcast. You’re meant to be talking from the heart,” she said (via Cheat Sheet).
Meghan Markle Always Belches Out Some Kind Of Imagined Injustice On Archetypes?
TV host Ian Collins also criticized Markle’s interview with Jamila Jameel because she sounded as though she was using a peculiar British accent.
“I just find that it has an underpinning, a curious sort of underpinning, to always belch out some kind of imagined injustice,” Collins said.
Megyn Kelly Slams Meghan Markle
Host Megyn Kelly also said that Markle has more important things that she should be focusing on instead of policing people’s words.
“The thing that really irritates me about her whole podcast is every week we get to ‘dissect’ another world you’re not allowed to say. You can’t say difficult, you can’t say the b-word, you can’t say a woman is aggressive. You can’t say the tiger lady, you can’t say an angry black woman. You know what? Sometimes women of all shapes, sizes, colors, and whatever, get angry. It’s not necessarily an ‘archetype.’ Like I said the day after that Oprah interview, she’s the least self-aware person I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter in public life,” she said.
However, panelist Nicola Thorp had a different stance regarding Archetypes. She said that she likes it because she loves the topics that Markle tackles every week.
“It gives a platform for women like myself. I really enjoy the podcast because there are so many parts of it that I can identify with,” Thorp said.
