Express UK shared some details of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Christmas break in Canada in 2019. The news outlet revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were rejected to go inside a local restaurant due to security difficulties that arise when hosting two of the most recognized persons on the planet.

It was claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had planned to dine at Deep Cove Chalet, an upmarket seafood restaurant that boasts magnificent waterfront views. However, the owners – Bev and Pierre Koffel – turned down the request to host the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for dinner,

Bev Koffel divulged to a local newspaper that security guards dropped by the restaurant and spoke to her. Mrs. Koffel shared it was not hard to identify them as persons very close to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, saying:

“They said, ‘How did you figure out who we were?’ And I said, ‘It wasn’t too hard’.”

Though Bev Koffel answered the phone, she turned Meghan Markle and Prince Harry down. She even told the newspaper that her husband, Pierre, was interested what would have happened next after rejecting the request of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince Harry was reportedly sighted hiking near Horth Hill. Mrs. Koffel recounted:

“Horth Hill’s become a very popular place now. And they jog around, so they’ve been seen. It’s kind of exciting. I hope everything goes fine for them. They’re breaking away from tradition and I just wish them all the best.”
