Meghan Markle just broke a record on Spotify. Her podcast, Archetypes, became number one on the platform just two days after she released her first episode on motherhood and ambition.
Meghan Markle Beats The Joe Rogan Experience, Game of Thrones Podcasts With Archetypes
Prior to the release of Archetypes, Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, was the number one podcast on Spotify. But Meghan Markle managed to dethrone Rogan.
According to The Wrap, Archetypes ascended to no. 1 in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
According to The New York Post, Archetypes also dethroned The Game of Thrones podcast, which was centered on the spinoff, House of the Dragon.

Meghan Markle Talked About Motherhood And Ambition On Archetypes
In the first episode of Archetypes, Markle spoke with tennis pro, Serena Williams. The two women exchanged notes on motherhood. And they also talked about their ambitions.
According to Markle, there is a double standard when it comes to women achieving their dreams. She also detailed an incident wherein the house that they were staying in Africa caught on fire while Archie was home.
Even though she was still reeling from the incident at the time, Markle was asked to continue with her royal engagements.
“I was like, 'Can you just tell people what happened?' And so much, I think, optically. The focus ends up being on how it looks instead of how it feels. And part of the humanizing and the breaking through of these labels and these archetypes and these boxes that we're put into is having some understanding of the human moments behind the scenes that people might not have any awareness of and giving each other a break. Because we did — we had to leave our baby. And even though we were being moved to another place afterward, we still had to leave him and go do another official engagement,” she said (via People).
Meghan Markle Promises Listeners That They Would Get To Know Her Better Through Archetypes
Prior to the release of Archetypes, Markle teased what listeners could expect to hear from her.
“These human moments behind the scenes, the ones under the surface… they're everything. Because when we don't swim in the shallow end, and instead choose to dive into the deep end, that's when we gain a more nuanced understanding of each other. People should expect the real me in this, and probably the me that they've never gotten to know — certainly not in the past few years, where everything is through the lens of the media as opposed to, 'Hey, it's me.’ I'm just excited to be myself and talk and be unfiltered and... yeah, it's fun,” she said.
