Mega Man Anime Release Window & Visual Revealed

Dentsu Entertainment USA has already been planning a new animated series for Mega Man as early as last year. The company has partnered with DHX Media, wherein the latter will be developing, coproducing, and managing licenses for distribution of the new series.

Now, there are a few more details for the upcoming series. According to Anime News Network, the company will bring the anime to Cartoon Network in 2018. The final widow hasn't been finalized yet, but even if that's the case, fans can enjoy a new visual image showcasing the titular character, seen below.

What's more, the new anime will supposedly focus on toys, while also introducing Mega Man's alter-ego, the school boy robot Aki Light. If you've missed Mega Man, you can also look forward to Rush coming back in. There will also be some new characters introduced in the new series. I'm very interested to know what Mega Mini looks like—hopefully as adorable as that oxymoronic name.

For those who are just hearing about the new Mega Man anime series here's the description released by Dentsu Entertainment and DHX:

"The new animated Mega Man series focuses on a normal, upbeat schoolboy robot, who discovers that deep within his programming lies secret protocols that can transform him into the powerful Mega Man. And, as the world's first robotic super-hero, Mega Man must face the threats of Silicon City, while trying to preserve his secret identity and maintain a regular robot boy life."

The new Mega Man anime will have a 26-epsode run.
