Meet the Dark Lord Face to Face in Vader Immortal Interactive VR Demo At Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars fans can experience the galaxy far, far away in virtual reality thanks to Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series. Now, they can get their first look at the highly-anticipated series at Star Wars Celebration Chicago next month.

ILMxLAB, the team behind the project, will be present at the event to provide new details and demo the first episode to attendees. This interactive experience will allow you to be face to face with the Dark Lord himself, Darth Vader. You even get to wield a lightsaber to take on the Star Wars baddie.

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series will take fans to Vader's fiery home of Mustafar. It will be based on an all-new original story by The Dark Knight Trilogy writer, David S. Goyer.

Set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, this virtual reality project will be considered canon, which means that it will expand the story of Vader. The project will be a three-part series that will be released in Oculus this year.

"We always look for opportunities to explore the Star Wars universe in new ways," Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said during the announcement of the game, which she described as "a first-of-its-kind Star Wars experience."

Goyer promises that Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series will be "immersive first" since it was designed especially for virtual reality. As a lifelong fan of the franchise, he promised that this will enrich the lore surrounding the character and that the medium in which it will be delivered will make it all the better.

"This 3-part series has been conceived and executed specifically for the VR medium. We're breaking new ground with this project that places you, the user, at the center of the story," he said.

The Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series demo at the Star Wars Celebration will be held April 12.
